Pianist, Shelly Dubow moved to California from New Jersey in the mid-seventies. Shelly had studied guitar with Sal Salvatore, Stan Kenton’s guitar player and the great jazz guitarist, Harry Leahy. He played in several local jazz groups in New Jersey until his move to California. Once in California he became enamored with the cool “West Coast” jazz venue and quickly adopted to the sound. After a few years, he started to train himself on the piano. It was not long after, he became the house piano player at Ritrovo’s, the “Posh” Westlake Village Restaurant in the San Fernando Valley. Shelly combines his gifted sense of harmony and rhythm with his creative piano style, adding to his approach at playing the Standards that his listeners love.
